-ÑUS. LA GRAN MIGRACION / ÑUS.THE GREAT MIGRATION

Constituye uno de los mayores espectáculos de la Tierra. Millones de Ungulados cruzan las llanuras de Serengueti de Kenya a Tanzania y de Tanzania a Kenya cada año, en busca de las lluvias  y los pastos frescos.

Estos animales poseen la habilidad de detectar las precipitaciones, aun a grandes distancias. No se sabe a ciencia cierta cómo perciben que está lloviendo en otra región de Serengueti, pero poseen esa habilidad innata.

These animals have the ability to detect precipitation, even at great distances. No one knows for certain how they perceive that it is raining in another part of Serengeti, but they have this innate ability

Inician la migración de modo gradual, uno de ellos se encamina en una dirección y el resto le va siguiendo. Pronto toda la manada parte en un asombroso éxodo empujada por la sed y el hambre.

Este animal de cabeza alargada y ojos brillantes, nace en un mundo hostil, con depredadores siempre al acecho, razón por la que las hembras, poseen la habilidad única en la naturaleza de sincronizar los nacimientos a fin de que entre el 80 y el 90 % de los terneros, nazcan en un periodo de tres semanas. En este periodo, la manada aumenta su número con miles de recién nacidos.

During this period, the herd increased in number with thousands of newborns.

Acompañados siempre por cebras, con quienes como en toda la cadena natural, tienen una relación directa y una perfecta compenetración, dependiendo los unos de los otros, ya que las cebras comen los largos tallos leñosos que otro animales rehusan al no poder digerir, dejando las hierbas cortas que son las que comen los Ñus.

Durante miles de años, el ser humano a penas estorbó la migración de los Ñus. Sin embargo, en la actualidad 

el hombre constituye su mayor amenaza. Los cazadores furtivos atrapan y matan cada año a miles de estos

mamíferos.

Sería lamentable ver como se extingue esta maravilla de la naturaleza, lo que se extendería al resto de animales y al ecosistema que depende y sobrevive gracias al esfuerzo de éstos ungulados cada año, por

recorrer tantos kilómetros en busca de su supervivencia.

-For thousands of years, humans barely hindered the migration of wildebeest. However, at present Man is their biggest threat. Poachers trapped and killed each year thousands of these mammals.
It would be unfortunate to see how it extinguishes this wonder of nature, which would extend to other animals and the ecosystem that depends and survives through the efforts of these ungulates each year, travel many miles in search of survival.
