-VOLUNTARIADO: REFLEXIONES

“Trabajar en voluntariado con niños, te haría volver al lugar más peligroso para  tenderles de nuevo la mano, sus miradas, te harían adentrarte hasta el mismísimo infierno, para volver a encontrar la paz, que solo acercarte a los más inocentes, te proporciona.”

REFLEXIONES

Con 50 años, habríamos vivido 600 meses. Imaginad como sería este mundo, si cada uno de nosotros, hubiéramos dedicado, solamente uno de esos meses, a ayudar a los demás. Lejos de la ayuda que diariamente ofrecemos a los que tenemos cercanos y que nos necesitan, salir de nuestro entorno y ofrecernos a los que realmente,  no tienen NADA.

Un mes, no supone nada para cada individuo, pero para el conjunto  de la humanidad, supondría un gran cambio. Años de ayuda, educación, igualdad y generosidad, para los que nunca han tenido acceso a la mayoría de los bienes que nosotros, damos por hecho que nos pertenecen solo por haber tenido la suerte de nacer en un país desarrollado.

Como en todos los campos, el voluntariado, ofrece un gran abanico de posibilidades, desde colaboración en proyectos de conservación de la fauna y medio ambiente, hasta la ayuda directa  en los lugares más subdesarrollados o el apoyo económico a quienes gestionan las organizaciones.

Estando en Sahara en el año 2008, coincidí, con un grupo de enfermeros voluntarios de la tercera edad. Durante nuestra entrevista, conmovía escucharles coincidir en el acierto de haber decidido dedicar la última etapa  de su vida a empezar una nueva vida lejos de casa, dedicada a los demás, en lugar de esperar frente al televisor que el paso tiempo les vaya erosionando, cuando ya no son “útiles” para la sociedad, tras haber estado trabajando toda una vida. Orgullosos y felices, pasamos la noche reunidos en torno al fuego a las puertas de nuestras jaimas, compartiendo vivencias hasta que el amanecer nos sorprenndió y con él, nuestra despedida.

Personas que nos duplicaban en edad, parecían tener mucha más vida y  energía que nosotros, hablando de sus proyectos, de los lugares en los que habían trabajado y de las personas que habían conocido.

No hay edad, ni obstáculos para quien se decide a dar el paso y siempre, con la garantía de que se recibe mucho más de lo que se da.

REFLECTIONS
With over 50 years, would have lived 600 months. Imagine this world would be like if every one of us, we spent, only one of those months, to help others. Far from the daily assistance that we offer to close and that we need out of our environment and to offer those who really have nothing.
One month does not mean anything to each individual, but for all mankind, would be a big change. Years of support, education, equality and generosity to those who have never had access to most goods that we take for granted that we belong only to have had the luck to be born in a developed country.
As in all fields, volunteering offers a wide range of possibilities, from cooperation in conservation of wildlife and the environment, direct support to the most underdeveloped or economic support to those managing organizations.
While in Sahara in 2008, I met with a group of volunteer nurses for the elderly. During our interview, listen match moved into the wisdom of having decided to devote the last stage of his life to start a new life far from home, dedicated to others, instead of waiting in front of the TV that over time erodes them, when are no longer "useful" to society, having been working a lifetime. Proud and happy, we spent the night gathered around the fire to the doors of our tents, sharing experiences until dawn sorprenndió us and with it our farewell.
People we doubled in age, seemed to have much more life and energy that we are talking about their projects, places in which they worked and the people they had known.
No age or obstacles for those who decide to go ahead and always with the assurance that you get so much more than what is given.
